Extenuating circumstances may occasionally prevent a student from completing his or her Engaged Learning Graduation Requirement. In those exceptional situations, the student may apply for a waiver or substitution of one or more of the requirements. The decision to grant a waiver or substitution of a requirement will be at the discretion of the SET Waiver Committee. 

A student wishing to apply for a waiver or substitution of the Student Engagement Transcript (SET) graduation requirement must contact the Engaged Learning & Community Involvement office to obtain a SET Waiver Application no later than 90 days prior to the expected graduation date. Upon receipt of the completed SET Waiver Application, the Senior Director of Engaged Learning & Community Involvement will appoint three members from the Engaged Learning Advisory Board to the SET Waiver Committee, with at least one member being a faculty member from the student’s academic school. The SET Waiver Committee will review the application materials submitted by the student and render a decision. The student will be notified in writing of the committee’s decision.
